Marilyn’s 75th Birthday Party

The First Day: May 31st, 2001. People from all over the world and the USA came to Hollywood, California, to celebrate Marilyn’s 75th birthday. A group of us stayed at the historic Roosevelt hotel.

The first thing I saw the next morning, when I went out on the balcony for a smoke, was this Marilyn towel hanging from the balcony of the room across from me on the other side of the pool. And of course, Steff had to come have a smoke and take a look at it too.

Next, it was back to the Roosevelt, where the girls had to freshen up.

The Hollywood Entertainment Museum (H.E.M.) opened a major Marilyn exhibit on June 1st. Many of the exhibited items were loaned from the Marilyn Remembered fan club.

Bright and early the next morning we got together and headed for Westwood cemetery. Here we are at the Roosevelt waiting for the valet to bring our vehicles.

After visiting Westwood, we split up. Some people went to have lunch, or back to the hotel. Gina, Tony, Steff, and I went to see Marilyn’s Brentwood home at 12305 5th Helena Drive.

Our gang of friends gathered at the Stinking Rose, a swank Hollywood restaurant famous for it’s specialty with garlic.
